The so called “DACH” region with Germany (D), Austria (A) and Switzerland (CH), is at the heart of Central Europe. Germany has a population of around 82 million inhabitants, Austria and Switzerland have 8 million inhabitants each.
Germany is known worldwide for its engineering skills and support for renewable energies and belongs to the economic drivers in the EU. Austria is the gateway to Eastern European economies, and Switzerland is the financial centre of the EU.
Germany has a wealth of print and online media from national dailies to specialized trade press. More than 350 dailies and 3,800 special interest titles are published covering almost all industries. Most of the publications are also distributed in Austria and Switzerland.
Most of the DACH inhabitants have fixed or mobile broadband access, and the web 2.0 mindset is already part of the lifestyle in all three countries.
